Editors from Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com rounded up seven of the best-selling compact sedans and declared the Civic best all around in the class. Under strengths, kbb.com listed, "Well built. Well rounded. World class." And, in a nod to Civic's storied pedigree, stated, "We interrupt this comparison test to reconfirm some old news: The Honda Civic is a great car." Praising the Civic from bumper to bumper, from its exterior styling to its peppy engine and “exceptional fuel economy," kbb.com concludes, "Everything the Civic does, it does well."

Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com, the trusted automotive information resource, put the Civic on its “2009 Best Resale Value: Top 10” list. This is the fifth time that the Civic has received this award, which honors vehicles that are expected to have the best resale value after five years of ownership.
Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com named the Civic Sedan one of its 2009 Best New Family Vehicles. The award was based on several factors, including resale value, fuel efficiency, capability and kid-friendliness. According to the editors at kbb.com, the Civic Sedan has "unrivaled reliability" and is a vehicle "by which all its competitors are measured."
Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com has honored Honda with its 2009 Best Resale Value Award in the Brand category. This means that across its entire line of vehicles, Honda has the best projected resale value. Individual Honda models—the Odyssey, CR-V, Fit and the entire Civic family—also won this prestigious award in separate categories.

Projected resale value is specific to the 2009 model year. For more information, go to Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com. Kelley Blue Book is a registered trademark of Kelley Blue Book Co., Inc.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized the Honda Civic Sedan as a 2009 "Top Safety Pick." The award was based on several tests, including a frontal-offset crash test, side crash test and rear-impact test. In addition, each winner was required to have electronic stability control available as either standard equipment or as an option. Active safety systems such as stability control can help drivers avoid collisions altogether. Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®), also known as electronic stability control, is standard equipment on the 2009 Honda Civic Sedan EX-L and is optional equipment on other Civic Sedan models.
Cars.com established the Lifestyle Awards to recognize which vehicles were best suited for the lifestyle needs of today's car buyers. After an exhaustive analysis, the Honda Civic was named the "Best New Car for First-Time Drivers" for 2008.
Honda has a long history of environmental leadership, including the introduction of America's first mass produced hybrid, the Honda Insight, and the first vehicle to meet California’s low emission vehicle standards, well in advance of regulatory requirements. Acknowledgement of our commitment to innovation can be seen by Honda’s topping the rankings as the country’s greenest automaker by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS)―for the fourth time in a row.*
