A look at the hand-built alternative fuel vehicles of the Detroit auto show.



Off the beaten path at the Cobo Center stood Electric Avenue, and within this small corner were examples of the burgeoning grassroots alternative-fuel movement. The Progressive X Prize booth showcased a variety of handmade "Indie" alternative fuel vehicles—all entrants in a global contest.  Check out these photos from "Electric Avenue."

Some of the greatest minds at Honda reflect on the CR-Z and its striking design cues.


Lately, auto shows have shown a variety of sport-oriented hybrid/alternative-fuel concept vehicles, but the CR-Z stands out because of its captivating coupe design, and the fact that it will be available to customers this summer.

A couple of videos documenting the big reveal


The showroom-ready CR-Z sport hybrid was officially unveiled to the press at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit Michigan. Although the weather was cold, the reception was anything but, for this unique new sport hybrid. With its striking low-slung profile, the CR-Z was arguably the most buzz-worthy debut at the show.
