5-Speed Automatic Transmission
The 5-speed automatic transmission features Grade Logic Control. The transmission uses the engine's broad torque curve for brisk acceleration, optimal fuel economy and smooth-shifting characteristics.
Drive-by-Wire™ Throttle System
Fast-responding electronics take the place of a traditional throttle cable and produce greater response, fuel economy and driveability with minimum adjustment and maintenance.
Grade Logic Control
Automatic transmissions use Honda's Grade Logic Control system. This system differs from other computer-controlled shift programming because it can detect vehicle driving situations and then set appropriate shift points for the car. This feature avoids gear hunting on ascents and descents, and downshifts for added engine braking.
MacPherson Strut Front Suspension
The way that the CR-V handles around turns and over bumps is almost indiscernible from that of a regular passenger car. There is very little body roll or tire noise around sharp turns, and the suspension soaks up bumps with ease. This can be attributed in part to the CR-V's well-tuned suspension.
Real Time™ 4WD
The remarkable Real Time 4-Wheel Drive system, available on all CR-V trim levels, increases drivetrain efficiency, decreases noise and vibration, and only operates in 4WD when necessary. Here is how it works: When there is insufficient traction at the front wheels, the Real Time 4WD system automatically uses dual hydraulic pumps to transfer power to the rear wheels. There is no need for driver intervention. The greater the degree of front-wheel slippage, the more torque is directed to the rear wheels. Best of all, Real Time 4WD requires little maintenance, and in 2007, this 4WD system was further improved for better performance on adverse road conditions.
