Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) in the Ridgeline benefits from a 4-channel design, so each wheel is controlled individually. Combined with its large brake rotors, short stops are a snap. Brake Assist helps apply maximum braking in emergency situations. And Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) varies the braking force at each wheel—helpful when hauling uneven loads.
Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
The Ridgeline has side airbags as standard equipment. The front passenger’s side airbag also features an Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS). The system uses special height and position sensors in the seat to determine if a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the side airbag-deployment path. If this happens, the system is designed to prevent the airbag from deploying.
Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)
Three Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) child-seat-mounting positions are built into the rear seats. The LATCH system utilizes both the upper child-seat tether anchors and dedicated lower-anchor points built into the body of the vehicle to help ensure correct mounting of a compatible child seat.
Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor
Designed to deploy from the headliner, the side curtain airbag inflates in about 20 milliseconds (0.020 seconds), and stays inflated for about 7 seconds. This increases the level of protection for passengers in the event of a rollover or a secondary collision such as with a tree, wall or another vehicle.

*Airbags inflated for display purposes.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Standard on the Ridgeline, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with location indicators tells the driver when a tire is significantly underinflated. Air-pressure sensors inside special valve stems in each of the four tires send signals to a monitoring unit mounted in the rear of the vehicle that relays the current air pressure status to the display. If the air pressure of any tire is significantly low, the system will automatically alert the driver via the display.*

*For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. See your dealer for details.
Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control
This sophisticated safety device aids the driver in retaining control if side slippage is detected. When the driver is cornering or must make a sudden maneuver, the system may engage if traction loss is detected.
Driver’s and Front Passenger’s Active Front Head Restraints
In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active head restraints move forward and up in a fraction of a second, helping reduce the likelihood of neck injury.
Daytime Running Lights
Visibility of the Ridgeline to other drivers is enhanced by the Ridgeline’s Daytime Running Lights (DRL).
