Safety technology, much like everything else in the 2004 Insight, is state-of-the-art. Front and rear crush zones, dual side-impact door beams, and a rigid, box-sectioned cabin floor all work together to help protect the occupants.

Other features such as reinforced hexagonal frame extrusions, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), dual front airbags (SRS) and 3-point seat belts with an automatic tensioning system are further arrayed in your defense against the uncertainties of the outside world.

SAFETY FEATURES

The front and rear crush zones provide driver and passenger protection in moderate-to-severe full-frontal and offset-frontal impacts.
In the event of a moderate-to-severe frontal impact, the dual front airbags inflate and deflate in a fraction of a second, and are designed to help prevent serious head and upper-body injuries.
Front and rear 3-point seat belts ride across the lap and chest and help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact.
An anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard on the Insight. It helps the driver retain steering control during hard braking.
