Honda engines are designed with three key principles in mind: power, efficiency and durability.
The V-6 and the 4-cylinder engines both benefit from 4-valve-per-cylinder heads to promote better breathing, plus tuned induction and the unique VTEC® system. The i-VTEC® system in the 2.4-liter four-cylinder adds variable timing control (VTC) to further boost its fuel economy and power. A balance shaft system in the 2.4-liter engine reduces vibrations to create a smoother-running engine. Both engines feature a forged-steel crankshaft for increased durability. As an example of Honda's commitment to providing trouble-free driving, the V-6 has a 105,000-mile tune-up interval while the 4-cylinder has a 110,000-mile interval.* Plus, every 2005 Accord Coupe model meets or exceeds the requirements to be certified as a Low-Emission Vehicle (LEV-2) in all 50 states.

The clutch mechanism on the 6-speed transmission incorporates a hydraulic delay that eliminates abrupt engagement and clutch-grab, resulting in smooth engagement under various conditions.
ABS, standard on all Accords, plus 4-wheel disc brakes on EX and V-6 models, offer smooth and efficient braking power, even with heavy and repeated use. On the EX and V-6 models, the Electronic Brake Distribution system (EBD) balances the front/rear braking forces.
All EX with Leather and V-6 models have an 8-way power driver's seat. The front seats on the Coupe are 20-inches wide and offer numerous adjustments. The seat-cushion angle and contour provide more thigh support. A manual seat-height adjustment is standard on LX models. A power height-adjustable seat is standard on 4-cylinder EX models.
For all Accord Coupe models, the remote entry key fob is built right into the key.
