Honda engineering is world-renowned for crafting vehicles that exhibit power, efficiency and durability.
The Civic features a lightweight aluminum engine with the added sophistication of variable valve timing and lift electronic control (VTEC®)so there's plenty of power and torque when you need it most. All models feature a 16-valve head that adds power and helps achieve the Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV) rating.

Honda engineers improved on the basic strut design by installing a high-mounted steering rack with long tie-rod links. These links move in long arcs that, in turn, effectively govern the front-wheel toe angles throughout suspension movement. The result: a big improvement in handling precision and stability versus a conventional strut system.
Much of the legroom increase over the previous generation comes from the rear suspension's highly compact design. The flat floor frees up more space for passengers and cargo and, along with a compact exhaust system, makes it possible to eliminate the floor hump for a roomy area.*

Grade Logic Control avoids gear hunting on uphills and descents, and downshifts for added engine braking.
At the rear is a double wishbone suspension. The system features a special toe-control arm and an innovative compliance arm and compliance bushing that flex to absorb bump impacts, providing a smoother, more comfortable ride. The toe-control arm and bushing are also designed to impart additional stability during hard braking, so the vehicle tracks straight and stable.
EX models feature VTEC® technology for improved power and higher fuel economy.
