Looking for a truck that combines extended towing and hauling capabilities with Honda durability, fuel-efficiency and environmental responsibility? Then look no further than the Honda Ridgeline. Under the hood you'll find a high-performance, high-torque, all-aluminum, 3.5-liter, VTEC® V-6 engine that produces 247 hp and 245 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is coupled to an advanced, electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission and fully automatic 4-wheel-drive system. The integrated closed-box frame with unit-body construction produces exceptional torsional rigidity, ensuring a smooth, comfortable ride with serious capabilities. The Ridgeline's advanced 4-wheel independent suspension and chassis have been designed for towing, hauling and off-road use.

ENGINEERING FEATURES

The 5-speed automatic transmission was built with heavy-duty truck use in mind. Clutches, shafts, gear ratios and bearings have all been upgraded for towing and hauling. Transmission shift points have been programmed to take full advantage of engine torque, and shift times are quicker for more positive shifts. A high-capacity automatic transmission cooler helps ensure greater durability when towing in hot conditions.
The high-output 24-valve, 3.5-liter VTEC V-6 engine produces 247 hp and an equally impressive 245 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the Ridgeline performance on a par with V-8 trucks. Yet it still has one of the highest-mileage and lowest-emissions ratings in its class.
The integrated closed-box frame with unit-body construction is quieter than the conventional body-on-frame design. Not only does this greatly minimize the buzz, squeak and rattle generally associated with body-on-frame trucks, but it also greatly enhances the Ridgeline's ride and handling, especially when fully loaded. The two integrated, fully boxed and reinforced frame rails and seven fully boxed cross members give it added strength and class-leading torsional rigidity.
Unlike other trucks with live-axle suspensions, each of the wheels operates independently of the others and also has a lower unsprung weight. As a result, the Ridgeline operates with superior off-road handling, a composed ride and unmatched stability.
The VTM-4® system operates automatically. But when you need to start off in extreme low-traction conditions, such as when stopped in mud, on ice or in loose gravel, the thoughtful VTM-4® Lock feature lets you manually lock the rear differential to help get you moving. And it can stay manually locked up to 18 mph.
The Steel-Reinforced Composite (SRC) Cargo Bed has twice the strength of steel and eliminates the need for a bed liner. The non-slip surface provides excellent impact, scratch and corrosion resistance. Steel cross members underneath the bed maintain integrity to combat the stress of heavy loads.
The large, hidden, lockable In-Bed Trunk® keeps large-sized gear secure. This weatherproof 8.5-cubic-foot storage is made of the same high-strength composite material as the bed. The wide opening can easily accommodate large items such as golf bags, or even a 72-qt. cooler.
When the clutches are energized and engaged by the VTM-4® Electronic Control Unit, up to 70% of the engine's power is diverted to the rear wheels so they can work with the front wheels to provide 4-wheel drive.
The available Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition provides an accurate and convenient tool for planning trips with voice and on-screen guidance. The system uses a retractable 8-inch (diagonal) touch screen, with additional controls on the left side and voice recognition.
The Dual-Action Tailgate swings down like any tailgate but it also swings to the side to allow for easy loading/unloading of the items in the bed and In-Bed Trunk. Designed to accommodate large and heavy items like an ATV, the heavy-duty tailgate has one of the industry's strongest tailgates—with a 300-pound dynamic load capacity.
