241-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine (EX-L, Touring)
In the EX-L and Touring models, the i-VTEC® engine enhances the effect of VTEC® with the addition of Variable Cylinder Management.™ (VCM®) This feature works on the principle that a vehicle only requires a fraction of its power output at cruising speeds. The system electronically deactivates cylinders to reduce fuel consumption. The VCM engine is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on the power requirement.
244-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve SOHC VTEC® V-6 Engine (LX, EX)
In the LX and EX models, the high-output, 3.5-liter, 24-valve SOHC VTEC V-6 engine produces 244 hp and an equally impressive 240 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the Odyssey outstanding V-6 performance. Yet it still has high mileage and low emissions ratings for its class.
Drive-by-Wire™ Throttle System
Working in conjunction with Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®), the Drive-by-Wire throttle system replaces a conventional throttle arrangement with an all-electronic system that senses the throttle pedal position and relays that information to the PCM. The computer then performs the actual throttle application instantaneously.
Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) (EX-L, Touring)
This VCM engine is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on the power requirement (compared to only a 3- or 6-cylinder mode in the previous-generation VCM engines). Powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC technology, VCM quickly and seamlessly activates or deactivates 2 or 3 cylinders. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when accelerating or climbing, as well as the efficiency of a smaller engine while cruising.
Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control
Working with ABS and the Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system, VSA enhances stability by detecting oversteer or understeer, and by then braking individual wheels and/or reducing throttle to help restore the driver's intended path of travel.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
This system monitors the pressure in all four tires and alerts the driver before pressure loss in any tire becomes significantly low. On the Touring model, the Multi-Information Display will show exact tire pressure for each tire and specifically which tire has low pressure.
Michelin® PAX® System Run-Flat Technology
With the Michelin PAX System available on the Odyssey Touring, you can still travel on a punctured tire at 50 mph up to 125 miles. Its specially designed larger wheels contain a flexible support ring and low-profile tires that even enhance handling. This feature works with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which monitors the pressure in all four tires and alerts the driver before pressure loss in any tire becomes critically low. For more information on the Michelin PAX System, please call 1-877-PAX-TIRE.
