Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure
ACE™ is designed to efficiently absorb impacts of vehicles of various sizes in the event of front-end collisions. It helps redirect impact energy through the frame and away from the passenger compartment in order to protect the occupants.
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
All Accord models feature 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking (ABS). Using a special modulator, ABS pulses the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup to help the driver retain steering control during hard braking. In addition, the Accord braking system features Brake Assist to help the vehicle come to a stop sooner when the system senses emergency braking. Also standard is Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), helping braking performance by distributing brake force among the four wheels based on how much load each wheel is bearing.
Dual-Stage, Dual-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)
In the event of a frontal impact, the dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags (SRS) inflate at different rates depending upon crash severity and seat belt use and are designed to help prevent head and upper-body injuries.
Front Crush Zones
The front crush zones help provide driver and passenger protection in full-frontal and offset-frontal impacts.
Dual-Chamber Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
With an advanced dual-chamber design, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver’s or front passenger’s upper body in the event of a sufficient side impact. The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger’s seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.

Outboard Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)
All five seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. The outboard rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.
Rigid Unit-Body Construction
The highly rigid unit body helps the Accord Coupe achieve its exceptional structural rigidity and crash protection. A high percentage of high-tensile steel helps it to better absorb impact forces from the front, sides and rear, as well as the roof, in the event of a rollover.
Side Curtain Airbags
The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear outboard passengers. This particular inflator provides an exceptionally quick inflation time.
Side-Impact Door Beams
The dual side-impact door beams help provide protection in a side impact.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
This system monitors the pressure in all four tires, and alerts the driver before pressure loss in any tire becomes significantly low[1].

[1] For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. See your local Honda dealer for details.
Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control
This sophisticated safety device aids the driver in retaining control of the vehicle if wheel slippage is detected. When the driver is cornering or must make a sudden maneuver, the system can sense oversteer and understeer and can brake individual wheels and/or reduce power to help restore the driver's intended course.
