190-hp, 2.4-Liter, 16-Valve, DOHC, i-VTEC® 4-Cylinder Engine (LX-S/EX/EX-L models)
The Accord LX Sport, EX and EX-L models feature a powerful 190-hp 4-cylinder engine. The DOHC i-VTEC® system enhances the effect of VTEC® on Accord's 4-cylinder engines by adding Variable Timing Control™, or VTC™.
271-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC VTEC® V-6 Engine (EX-L V-6 6MT models)
The Accord EX-L V-6 single overhead camshaft (SOHC) VTEC® engine is designed to deliver outstanding performance at any engine speed.
271-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine with VCM® (EX-L V-6 5AT models)
V-6 models come equipped with the 5-speed automatic transmission i-VTEC® system and Variable Cylinder Management™, so you get both fuel efficiency[1] and thrilling acceleration.

5-Speed Automatic Transmission
The 5-speed automatic transmission uses the engine's broad torque curve for brisk acceleration, optimal fuel economy[1] and smooth shifting.Plus, on EX-L V-6 models with automatic transmission, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters add an extra degree of fun and control.

Close-Ratio 6-Speed Manual Transmission (available)
The Accord EX-L V-6 6MT Coupe offers the sporting driver quick, precise gear control with the short-throw shifter. The clutch mechanism on the 6-speed transmission is designed to eliminate abrupt engagement and clutch-grab, resulting in smoother shifts.
Double Wishbone Front Suspension
The advanced double wishbone front suspension uses both lower and upper control links. This allows Honda engineers the flexibility to tune the suspension for predictable cornering feel and emergency maneuvering, to ensure a smooth and stable ride.
Drive-by-Wire Throttle System
The Drive-by-Wire throttle system helps enhance the driving character of the Accord Coupe. With smart electronics connecting the throttle pedal to the throttle butterfly valve in the intake manifold, the engine response can be optimized to suit the driving conditions and to better match the driver's expectations[1].

Grade Logic Control
The Accord automatic transmission features Honda's Grade Logic Control System. This system differs from other computer-controlled shift programming because it can detect vehicle driving situations and then set appropriate shift points for the car. This feature avoids gear hunting on climbs and descents, and downshifts when appropriate for added engine braking.
Independent Multi-Link Rear Suspension
The multi-link rear suspension uses a compact, in-wheel design. Its high lateral rigidity enhances the Accord's agility.
Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®)
Powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC® technology, VCM® works on the principle that a vehicle only requires a fraction of its power output at cruising speeds. The system electronically deactivates cylinders to reduce fuel consumption[1]. With VCM the engine is able to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders based on the power requirement. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when accelerating or climbing, as well as the efficiency of a smaller engine when cruising.
