Yes, hybrids are about fuel economy and ultra-low emissions. But the 2006 Accord Hybrid is also about scintillating high-performance. This hybrid puts 253 horsepower to work, making your drive a lot more enjoyable. Its Integrated Motor Assist (IMA™) System gives the powerful V-6 gas engine even more fuel efficiency (estimated 25/34 mpg) and get-up-and-go when needed. The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system enhances steering response, and there's also a unique hybrid air-conditioning system that switches to an electric compressor when at a stop, to keep occupants comfortable. Even the alloy wheels are specially designed to minimize wind resistance and maximize mileage. And environmentally speaking, the Accord Hybrid is an Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV),* which means that it meets the most stringent standard achieved by a gasoline-fueled car.

*AT-PZEV rated by California Air Resources Board (CARB).
ENGINEERING FEATURES

The advanced 4-wheel double wishbone suspension offers an ideal balance between ride comfort and handling.
ABS, standard on all Accord models, offers controlled and efficient braking power, even with heavy and repeated use. The Electronic Brake Distribution system (EBD) balances the front/rear braking forces.
The compact 5-speed automatic transmission features Grade Logic Control. The transmission uses the engine's broad torque curve for brisk acceleration, optimal fuel economy and smooth-shifting characteristics.
The Accord Hybrid has an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat. The seat-cushion angle and contour provide more thigh
Grade Logic Control avoids gear hunting on hills and descents, and downshifts for added engine braking.
The Integrated Motor Assist System (IMA™) is composed of a gasoline engine and an electric motor, and has several important functions. Located between the engine and transmission, the electric motor supplies additional power during acceleration. It also functions as a high-speed starter and as a generator for the charging system during regenerative braking.
The remote entry key fob is built right into the key.
Planning a trip? Lost in the suburbs? Either way, the navigation system is here to help. With an eight-gigabyte database of maps, and voice recognition, it provides convenient directions using a series of 24 global positioning satellites.
The Accord Hybrid is powered by a 3.0-liter, 24-valve i-VTEC® engine coupled with Integrated Motor Assist (IMA™) producing 253 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 232 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm.
