The 2006 Civic Si is the beneficiary of broad and thorough research in safety design from Honda. It's fully loaded with features to help keep you and your passengers safe.

The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure enhances the vehicle's ability to deal with crash energy in impacts with vehicles of differing size. To help you maintain steering control during hard stops, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) in the Civic Si takes into account how the car is dynamically loaded, and apportions braking force appropriately. The Civic Si also enhances your visibility to others by incorporating Daytime Running Lights (DRL) up front.

SAFETY FEATURES

In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active head restraints move forward and up, helping reduce and/or prevent neck injury.
Our Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure improves impact compatibility with different-sized vehicles. In front-end collisions, it helps redirect crash energy around the passenger compartment.
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) helps you maintain steering control during hard stops. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) balances braking forces at each wheel according to how the car is loaded dynamically.
Daytime Running Lights (DRL) can help increase visibility to oncoming cars, especially in rainy or foggy weather conditions.
In the event of a moderate-to-severe frontal impact, the dual-stage, dual threshold front airbags (SRS) inflate and deflate in a fraction of a second, and are designed to help prevent head and upper-body injuries.
The front passenger seat features an Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) to help prevent the side airbag from deploying if a child or small-statured adult is in the airbag's path of deployment.
All five seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. The outboard rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.
Front 3-point seat belts with an automatic tensioning system ride across the lap and chest to help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact.
High-tensile steel beams placed in the doors of the Civic Si help to prevent the intrusion of crash forces in a side impact.
The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear passengers.
The system immobilizes the engine's fuel injection and ignition, and only a matching digital code in the ignition key can override it. When the driver puts the key into the ignition switch, the switch transmits a signal that reads the code in the key. If the key code agrees with the code in the Immobilizer unit, the powertrain control module (PCM) starts the engine.
