Honda's Safety for Everyone philosophy is more than a motto—it takes shape in the advanced standard safety features of our vehicles.

The 2007 Civic Si Sedan reflects our commitment to protect you and your passengers, as well as your fellow motorists and pedestrians. Vital standard safety features, including Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, which enhances the vehicle’s ability to absorb and disperse impact energy in accidents with vehicles of differing size. An anti-lock braking system (ABS) helps you maintain steering control during hard stops. And Daytime Running Lights (DRL) increase your visibility to other motorists.

SAFETY FEATURES

In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active front head restraints move forward and up, helping reduce and/or prevent neck injury.
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) helps you maintain steering control during hard stops. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) balances braking forces at each wheel according to how the car is loaded dynamically.
Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure improves impact compatibility with different-sized vehicles. In front-end collisions, it helps redirect impact energy around the passenger compartment.
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) can help increase visibility to oncoming cars, especially in rainy or foggy weather conditions.
Dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags deploy at one of two rates and thresholds, depending on the severity of impact and seat-belt use.
In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the upper body of either the driver or front passenger. Plus the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.
All five seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. The outboard rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.
An automatic seat-belt tensioning system helps hold occupants securely in a collision. The system is triggered by the same sensors that deploy the airbags.
To help lessen or prevent head and neck injuries in side collisions, all Civic models now feature side curtain airbags.
High-tensile-steel beams placed in the doors of the Civic Si Sedan help to prevent the intrusion of crash forces in a side impact.
The system immobilizes the engine's fuel injection and ignition, and only a matching digital code in the ignition key can override it. When the driver puts the key into the ignition switch, the switch transmits a signal that reads the code in the key. If the key code agrees with the code in the Immobilizer unit, the powertrain control module (PCM) starts the engine.
