Honda’s Safety for Everyone philosophy is more than a motto—it takes shape in the advanced safety features of our vehicles.

Drive with confidence in the CR-V—the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given it 5-star frontal and 5-star side impact ratings*. Every CR-V comes standard with features such as Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, anti-lock braking (ABS) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). A total of six airbags, including side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor, help protect you and your passengers in sufficient impacts. Features like these exemplify Honda’s dedication to Safety for Everyone. So it comes as no surprise that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has recognized the Honda CR-V as a 2007 “Top Safety Pick.”

*National Highway Traffic Safety Administration frontal-and side-impact crash tests. Model tested with standard side-impact airbags (SABs). Government star ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), found at safercar.gov.
SAFETY FEATURES

Front 3-point seat belts with pretensioners ride across the lap and chest to help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact.
In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active head restraints move forward and up, helping reduce and/or prevent neck injury.
ACE™ is designed to efficiently absorb impacts of vehicles of various sizes in the event of front-end collisions. It helps redirect impact energy through the frame and away from the passenger compartment in order to protect the occupants.
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses a special modulator to pulse the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup. This helps the driver retain steering control during hard braking.
In the event of a frontal impact, the dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags (SRS) inflate at different rates depending upon crash severity and seat belt use and are designed to help prevent head and upper-body injuries.
The front crush zones help provide driver and passenger protection in full-frontal and offset-frontal impacts.
In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. Plus the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.
All five seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. The outboard rear seats feature the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.
The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact or rollover, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear outboard passengers. A type of inflator provides an exceptionally quick inflation time.
