3-Point Seat Belts with Pretensioners
Front 3-point seat belts with pretensioners ride across the lap and chest to help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact.
Active Front Head Restraints
In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active head restraints move forward and up, helping reduce and/or prevent neck injury.
Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure
ACE™ is designed to efficiently absorb impacts of vehicles of various sizes in the event of front-end collisions. It helps redirect impact energy through the frame and away from the passenger compartment in order to protect the occupants.
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses a special modulator to pulse the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup. This helps the driver retain steering control during hard braking. This helps the driver retain steering control during hard braking.
Dual-Stage, Dual-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)
In the event of a frontal impact, the dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags (SRS) inflate at different rates depending upon crash severity and seat belt use and are designed to help prevent head and upper-body injuries.
Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
In the event of a moderate-to-severe frontal impact, the dual-stage front airbags (SRS) inflate and deflate in a fraction of a second, and are designed to help prevent head and upper-body injuries.
Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)
All five seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. The outboard rear seats feature the Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.
Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor
The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact or rollover, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear outboard passengers. The inflator provides an exceptionally quick inflation time.
Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control
This sophisticated safety device aids the driver in retaining control of the vehicle if wheel slippage is detected. When the driver is cornering or must make a sudden maneuver, the system can sense oversteer and understeer and can brake individual wheels and/or reduce power to restore the driver's intended course.
Front Crush Zones
The front crush zones help provide driver and passenger protection in full-frontal and offset-frontal impacts.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
This system monitors the pressure in all four tires and alerts the driver before pressure loss in any tire becomes significantly low.
