Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure
The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is a Honda exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with Traction Control
VSA[1] can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power in the event of oversteer or understeer to help regain the driver's intended path. The system also features a traction control function to help prevent wheelspin during acceleration.

[1] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses a special modulator to pulse the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup. This helps the driver retain steering control when braking hard. The Electronic Brake Distribution system (EBD) balances the braking forces at each wheel according to how the car is dynamically loaded.
Battery Placement
The solid-cell design and central placement of the nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack help protect it.
Driver's and Front Passenger's Active Front Head Restraints
In a moderate to severe rear-end impact, the active front head restraints move forward and up, reducing the likelihood of neck injury.
Dual-Stage, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)
The vehicle is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). One or both of these airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seatbelt usage and/or other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seatbelts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes. Airbags inflated for display purposes.
Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.

Outboard Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)
All five seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. The rear seat features the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.
Security System with Remote Entry
Insight LX & EX models are equipped with a security system with remote entry for added security and convenience. The Insight model is equipped with remote entry
Side Curtain Airbags
The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear outboard passengers.
