The V-6 engine in the Odyssey meets California’s Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standard for light trucks. Fuel efficiency remains a high priority, as the outstanding city/highway ratings of the Odyssey confirm.
244-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine (EX-L, Touring)
In the EX-L and Touring trims, the i-VTEC® engine enhances the effect of VTEC® on the 6-cylinder engine by adding Variable Cylinder Management.™ This revolutionary feature works on the principle that a vehicle only requires a fraction of its power output at cruising speeds. The system electronically deactivates cylinders to reduce fuel consumption. The VCM engine is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on the power requirement.

In the LX and EX trims, the high-output, 3.5-liter, 24-valve, SOHC VTEC V-6 engine produces 244 hp and an equally impressive 240 lb-ft of torque, giving the Odyssey outstanding V-6 performance. Yet it still boasts a high-mileage and low-emissions rating.
