250-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve SOHC VTEC® V-6 Engine
The high-output 24-valve, 3.5-liter VTEC® V-6 engine produces 250-hp and a 247 lb-ft of torque, putting the Ridgeline performance on a par with some V-8 trucks.
5-Speed Automatic Transmission
The 5-speed automatic transmission was built with heavy-duty truck use in mind. Clutches, shafts, gear ratios and bearings have all been upgraded for towing and hauling. Transmission shift points have been programmed to take full advantage of engine torque, and shift times are quicker for more positive shifts. A high-capacity automatic transmission fluid cooler helps ensure greater durability when towing in hot conditions.
Variable Torque Management® 4-Wheel-Drive System (VTM-4®)
The VTM-4® system operates automatically. But when you need to start off in extreme low-traction conditions, such as when stopped in mud, on ice or in loose gravel, the VTM-4® Lock feature lets you manually lock the rear differential to help get you moving. And it will stay manually locked up to 18 mph in both forward and reverse gears.
4-Wheel Independent Suspension
Unlike other trucks with live-axle suspensions, each of the wheels operates independently of the others and also has lower unsprung weight. As a result, the Ridgeline operates with superior off-road handling, a composed ride and greater stability.
Locking Rear Differential
When the clutches are energized and engaged by the VTM-4® Electronic Control Unit, up to 70% of the engine's power is diverted to the rear wheels so they can work with the front wheels to provide 4-wheel drive.
