The Civic Coupe is a direct descendant of the 1975 Civic CVCC, which was the first vehicle to pass the emissions requirement of the Clean Air Act of 1970 without using a catalytic converter.
The Civic has come a long way since then, and now features technological achievements that are just as impressive.
Today's Civic
Today's Civic features a 1.8-liter, single overhead camshaft, aluminum-alloy i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine that provides exceptional fuel economy (28 city/39 hwy/32 combined mpg)[1].
Along with improved fuel efficiency, the 2012 Civic is also available as a Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (PZEV) in states that adhere to CARB standards[3].
