The Civic Hybrid is a direct descendant of the 1975 Civic CVCC, which was the first vehicle to pass the emissions requirement of the Clean Air Act of 1970 without using a catalytic converter. Our hybrid technology has blossomed since we introduced the first gas-electric hybrid, the Insight, to the U.S. market in 1999.
Today's Civic Hybrid achieves impressive fuel economy (44 hwy mpg)[1], and offers buzz-worthy technology
like Eco Assist and the
ECON button[2] so you have every advantage out on the road.
Along with improved fuel efficiency, the 2012 Civic Hybrid qualifies as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV)[3].
