Considering the Fit EV's impressive range rating, you'd think it would require a long charge time. But remarkably, the 6.6 kW onboard charger is capable of recharging a battery in as little as three hours from a low-charge indicator illumination point when using a 240-volt circuit. Fit EV drivers can program when the charger turns on and off using either the Multi-Information Display or the smartphone app. This is especially useful when you want to take advantage of an electric company’s off-peak hours. Charging can also be initiated or stopped using the remote.
Out and About
The Fit EV includes a J1772 compatible plug, which can be used in many public charging stations. And since the vast majority of trips Americans make are well under the Fit EV's EPA combined driving-range rating (adjusted) of 82 miles, you could even plug in at, say, your local grocery store and top off your battery while you shop. Charging locations can be found on the standard navigation system as well as the Fit EV smartphone app. The government also includes an updated map with charging locations that can be seen here
