Rhonda is officially out of commission :( I will be borrowing my Dad's car now to get around. The one good thing is that I was able to donate my car to charity and whatever money they get for it will go to the American Humane Association : Animal Welfare. I'm really going to miss my first my first Honda. I loved that car!

Going off-roading through a field to a beach party in my very first car that my friends and I named Rhonda. It is a 1996 Honda Civic LX that has traveled over 200,000 miles and I have had countless adventures in. I love this car but sadly after 8 years of wanderlust I don't think Rhonda is up for my next journey west.

I can't wait for summer on the lake! My friends and I spend the day jumping off "chicken rock" and various rope swings around the lake. Sometimes we even barbecue on one of the islands, and enjoy a nice refreshing swim on hot summer days.

Went to my cousin's fiance's Bridal shower today :) Excited for the wedding next month! Plus that same week in May my best friend who moved to Florida will be in town. So happy.. I miss her so much!

In the process of making plans to spend a weekend in NYC with my friends. We are going to go to a Yankees game and just get some bleacher seats because we are all poor college grads. Then we are going to enjoy a night in the city and crash on our friend's couches :) I'm going to try and convince the guys to go the UCB theater the next night. UCB is cheap ($10 a ticket) and full of laughs! One of my favorite things to do in the city!

Happy Easter Indeed! Had brunch with my family this morning and then I met up with my buddy Jeff and we took our dogs for a hike. I took him to the secret look out my brother had brought me too. He thought the view was awesome and he is going to take his little brother there the next time he is in town. Glad I could show him a cool spot and enjoy a nice hike.

Spent the last couple of days with my grandma in the hospital. She has always been a big part of my life. I admire her positivity and sense of humor. At 91 years old she strives to make people laugh and never fails to put a smile on someone's face. She loves to bake all kinds of delicious treats but my favorite are the gingerbread men cookies that we make every christmas. She is simply the best Grandmother anyone could ask for and I love her so much!

Found a few local climbing boulders this weekend. I think all I need to get right now is a safety matt. This way I can practice my holds and technique before I do a big outdoor climb.

Normally I head down to the local EMS at the mall to try and find out about new climbing activities in the area. Last time I went they hooked me up with climbing classes in New York state, where I learned how to tie knots and the basics of climbing. I think with a little training I'll be ready for some outdoor routes. So, this time I found a ton of routes around me using rockclimbing.com. I'm going to go check them out this weekend and see what kind of gear I'm going to need.

Studying abroad in Australia was a life changing experience. I was fortunate enough to be able to snorkel the great barrier reef twice, road trip up the east coast from Byron Bay to Cairns, learn how to surf, fly to Sydney and see a play at the Opera house, go whale watching, learn how to drive stick on the beach, see a Rugby game, hold a koala bear, go to the Ballina horse races, volunteer at an animal rescue center, and make a ton of new friends and great memories.

Had a nice break from studying after I took my NCLEX. Now It's time to hit the books again and get ACLS certified(emergency/code training). After my first class today I realize how much my university prepared me for my nursing career. So glad i have a strong nursing knowledge base to build upon.

I was so excited for the 6" of snow we were suppose to get this weekend thinking that I would finally be able to go to the mountain for some winter fun. Sadly we only got around 1"(I ran outside and took this picture while it was still snowing) and then it quickly turned into freezing rain :( I'm thinking that I'm going to need to take a road trip up north to Vermont or Maine if this continues.

Yesterday was a gorgeous day and I got to spend most of my time outside while I volunteered. I've been thinking I might volunteer for Red Cross now that I have my RN license I can really help out. But first, I'm going to look into it some more and see if it's the right fit for me.

Another great day volunteering today! I've been looking for places like Guiding Eyes to continue volunteering at in in San Diego, California. So far I have found Paws’itive Teams, a non-profit organization that trains service dogs. I will be sure to check out the programs they offer for volunteers once I move out there.

Yesterday was my first day back at Guiding Eyes for the Blind, where they breed and train guide dogs. I had volunteered there two previous summers and loved every moment. The people there are so kind and work hard to help others. I will be going there once a week for four hours to lend a helping hand. When I move out west I hope to find an organization like this one to volunteer at. :)
