We looked far and wide to find a Generation 1 CR-V for our son, to take him to college and to work. We wanted the space, cute looks, reliability and safety of this model. In 2006 we found our 1998 CR-V on the wholesale line at a local Toyota dealer. It had turned 100,000 miles, so we took it to our Honda dealer to be checked. The Honda technician (25 years experience) who checked it over for us said it ran well, it only needed maintenance, and it was a 'bulletproof' vehicle, perfect for a college student. We replaced fluids, timing belt & water pump, brakes, battery and tires. It has original transmission, engine, and all the power options work. It runs beautifully, it looks great, and it now has over 131,000 miles on it. It never fails to start, and it never breaks down. We change the oil every 3000 miles, and we expect it to double its present mileage. Our son loves it, and it’s so reliable we don’t worry about it. Our son works at the local Country Club, so his little red CR-V went from a wholesale line to the Country Club, where it fits right in!
