All models feature a 3.5-liter, 24-valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 engine with 248 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. Its Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) allows for exceptional power and fuel economy[1] while meeting CARB's ULEV-2 emissions rating[2]. A 6-speed automatic transmission (Touring models) helps the Odyssey achieve its impressive fuel economy[1], while maintaining excellent performance for a van.
Top of the Class
28 mpg[1] is an extraordinarily high number for an 8-passenger van. To accomplish this high level of efficiency[1], the engineers needed more than just an efficient engine and transmission. Low-rolling resistance tires, a variable-displacement power-steering pump, and low-drag wheel bearings as well as an aerodynamic body all help keep the gas-station stops few and far between.
