Our safety philosophy takes shape in the advanced safety features of all Honda vehicles.
5-Star Crash Safety Performance
Drive with confidence in the Pilot. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given it
5-star frontal and 5-star side crash
ratings[1].
Active Safety Features
An array of standard safety features is ready to protect you and your passengers in every Pilot. These include
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with traction control, which helps sense oversteer and understeer conditions, then brakes individual wheels and/or reduces throttle input to help restore your intended path of travel. Additionally, the Pilot is equipped with
LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) in all three second-row seating positions and in the right-side third-row seat.
Peace of Mind
While sharing the road with many other drivers, sometimes a collision just cannot be avoided. So standard safety features in the Pilot can help provide a robust defense.
Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure helps absorb and disperse crash energy over a large area in a frontal impact. ACE also makes the Pilot more crash compatible in frontal impacts with vehicles of differing ride heights. Additionally, front, front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) and
three-row side curtain airbags with rollover sensor all help to protect you and your passengers.
Honda's Safety Philosophy
Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone—that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for other vehicle occupants, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road.
