With an available lineup of powerful and sophisticated electrified vehicles, Honda continues to innovate its way toward the goal of a 100% zero-emission lineup in North America by 2040.
EVs offer an adrenaline-pumping drive by providing instant acceleration due to the electric motor. By placing the batteries in the floor, EVs also have a lower center of gravity, ensuring agile handling on the road while a single-speed transmission provides a seamless driving experience. EV performance also contributes to charging. When EVs slow down, the batteries can be recharged through energy recaptured by regenerative braking. The electric motors also produce less noise than internal combustion engines, resulting in a quieter drive.
The amount of money that an EV owner can expect to save compared to a gas-powered vehicle depends on various factors, including the cost of electricity, fuel prices, vehicle efficiency, maintenance costs, and any available incentives. While exact savings will vary depending on individual circumstances, EV owners typically save money on fuel cost, maintenance cost, and savings from tax credits and other incentives. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the cost per mile to drive an EV is about half the cost of driving a gas-powered vehicle, assuming national average electricity and gas prices. Similarly, the DOE indicates that EVs can be less costly to maintain, due to fewer moving parts, no oil changes, and reduced brake wear due to regenerative braking systems.
While there will likely be some changes to your routine, like planning ahead for places to charge on longer road trips and no longer needing to stop at a gas station, the easiest way to keep the same routine is to charge at home. Simply plug in with a Level 2 charger overnight and wake up to a fully charged battery. When you do need to charge while on the road, some quick planning can help ensure that you can shop, eat or run errands while your EV charges.
Planning ahead and checking which charging options are available on your route to your destination can help ensure the best road trip experience possible. Utilize the HondaLink® app* or Google Maps* in the Prologue to locate available charging stations along your route, ensuring optimal charging stops and keeping you on schedule to reach your destination. Many public charging stations are now located near restaurants and shopping so you can time your charging with meals or stretch your legs while you wait.
Yes, most EV owners prefer to charge their vehicles at home because it’s more convenient and cost effective than public charging stations. Level 1 home charging is done through a standard household outlet and can add up to 4.2 miles of range per hour.* A 240v Level 2 home charging station can add up to 34.1 miles of range per hour* when faster charging is needed.
Installation costs vary depending on the electrical system and the type of installation. You can find more information on how to order and install Honda home solutions with Honda Home Electric.
Plug your charge connector into your Prologue and charging will start based on your Charge Mode setting. The app will show the charging status, such as current battery state of charge (SOC) and time remaining. You can also stop a charge from the app.
EV drivers can choose from two different EV charging station levels. DC Fast Charging (DCFC) stations are located across the country and provide the highest-power charging option, adding up to 65 miles of range in 10 minutes.*
An NACS-CCS Adapter allows certain electric vehicles, like the Prologue, to use NACS chargers, giving you access to more than 23,500 charging points on the Telsa Supercharger network plus other DC Fast Chargers. Adapters are available for purchase through DreamShop and authorized Honda dealers and come with a 1-year warranty.
1. Find & Prepare: Use the HondaLink® app or Charging Station Locator map to locate a compatible NACS J3400 DC fast-charging station. Some stations require third party apps for payment (e.g., Tesla Supercharging stations require the Tesla app). Inspect your adapter and NACS charging plug for damage or debris and ensure the cable can comfortably reach your vehicle before parking.
The rising number of public charging stations in some areas makes it possible to solely use public stations. Many EV drivers often rely on chargers at their workplace. Search for charging stations using our Charging Station Locator map.

Yes, the 2024 and 2025 Prologue are eligible for the $7500 federal tax credit. If leasing, the incentive will be included in the terms of transaction. If purchasing, eligibility depends on a few factors: 1) You must buy it for your own use and use it primarily in the U.S.; 2) Your modified adjusted gross income may not exceed $300,000 for married couples filing jointly; $225,000 for heads of households; and $150,000 for all other filers. Read more about tax incentives and EV perks that may be available to you.
You can choose from one of the three charging packages offered by Honda as part of the Prologue MSRP to help offset the costs of installation or public charging.
The maintenance on an EV is minimal. EVs do not require scheduled oil changes, for example, but will still need regular service on items like tire rotations, alignments and air filter changes. The Prologue will also need to have its battery, electric motor and cooling system inspected.
