The 1988 to 1991 Civic Si Hatchback captured the attention of a growing number of sport compact-car enthusiasts, just as the market was beginning to emerge in the U.S.
Beginning in 1992, Civic Si Hatchback models incorporated Honda’s famed VTEC® engine technology.
After a brief hiatus, the Civic Si reappeared in 1999 with a twin-cam VTEC® four-cylinder engine that made 160 horsepower from 1.6-liters, a rarity in vehicles of its price range.
The 2002 Civic Si featured fresh and innovative styling with its distinctive short nose and exclusive 3-door package.
In 2006, a completely redesigned Si brought a 197-horsepower engine, plus new levels of performance, handling and emotional styling.
2007 added four doors to its speed and performance Si package with the all-new Civic Si Sedan. The same power and emotion, just with more practical comforts.
