Honda will lease the Fit EV to approximately 1,100 customers over a two-year period to residents of California, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Rhode Island.

By carefully controlling the volumes and the leasing regions, we can assure successful customer EV experiences, while continuing to develop the technology, lower costs and learn about consumer needs and wants. The Fit EV leasing program will provide us with important information as we continue to develop advanced zero-emissions powertrains—like battery electric and fuel-cell electric vehicles.

Leasing is being handled through American Honda Finance Corp. and American Honda in conjunction with local dealers. Collision coverage, maintenance costs and roadside assistance service are also covered by the 3-year $389/month lease for well-qualified lessees. Total due at lease signing $389 plus tax and title[1]. Collision Coverage means that Honda is taking the risk and responsibility for repairs to the Fit EV, leaving to the lessee only the responsibility to obtain and carry liability insurance for at least the minimum required by the lease. There is no deductible, and Honda will evaluate and approve all repair requests submitted. The lessee will be required to call a toll free number to report all collisions/damage and receive instructions to arrange for repairs.
