There are memories behind every mile in a Honda, and we’d love to hear yours. If your odometer has reached a notable milestone, this is the place to share your journey with others who have done the same. Congratulations—not every Honda travels 100,000 miles and beyond. The stories here don’t represent the average expectancy of every Honda. Everyone’s experience is different based on vehicle, driving manner and conditions.

I bought my 1990 Honda Accord LX 15 years ago with 74K miles. This was my first time buying a Honda. It was made in America, which is important to me as a patriotic American, and also makes my car "True Blue" in more ways than one. My Accord has now surpassed 1 million miles on the original engine, automatic transmission, power-steering system, brake calipers, fuel injectors and much more. This car was towed once after 10 1/2 years of service for a fuel-pump failure, which was also original to the car. I have recorded and completed all the scheduled maintenance services to the vehicle using the same quality parts and fluids every time. I've been in the automotive field most of my life, and it wasn't until I owned a Honda that I truly understood the engineering and workmanship that Honda puts into their products. To this day, my car still amazes me and the people I share my story with.

Very impressive indeed JOE! Just goes to prove that HONDA cars really are the 'Power of Dreams' in every respect. I drive an Accord, it's 11 years old and is a very reliable and well built car. Never under estimate a HONDA product! CHEERS

I have a 2005 Honda Accord that i bought new and it is by far the best car i have owned. Has 136,000 miles and only thing that has been wrong is I had to get a new battery once. Honda makes great vehicles and thats what I will be buying from now on.
by Chuck S on September 20, 2012 at 8:11 PM
Original brake calipers, really?

I bought my first Honda in 2000. It was 5 years old and had 43,000 miles on it. It is a civic hatchback. I have always had scheduled maintenance and never had any problems. I had to start replacing minor parts the last few years. It is at 143,00 now. In the next few days I plan to sell it to a neighbor who likes to work on cars. I plan to buy a newer model. Hondas are the best cars.

My parents have purchased four Hondas. 85 accord that had transmission failure at 225,000 miles. A 95 odyssey that had transmission failure at 340,693 miles. A 1996 accord at 160,000 miles and counting. 2004 Civic 200,000 miles. Now they are looking to replace the Odyssey with the new 2012 Odyssey. BIG HONDA FANS (=

I own three station wagons Ex, which don't even add up to one millions miles. Boy, I have a LONG LONG way to go..Can't thank Honda enough. Gee, why would anyone buy anything else?
by Barry B on April 16, 2012 at 2:40 PM
2000 Honda Accord EX 4dr Sedan. I bought this car new, and still drive it. Just hit 100,000 miles. Replaced timing belt, water pump, brakes, all fluids, spark plugs, multiple air filters, and two sets of tires and batteries. Also had throttle body cleaned. The CD player is jammed with two CD's in it for the last 5 years. I have given up on it. The front headlight lens have become dull with age. Tried turtle wax and it has helped.

I bought my first Honda, 86 Accord LXi in the mid 90's. Since then I've been stuck ha, ha. The interior and exterior designs are always ahead of their time. All the wrecked Hondas I've purchased for clean up and resale have had 100k to over 200k miles. I finally worked my way up to a 2009 Pilot and I plan to pass that on to my daughter in 10 years confidently. It's all about following the scheduled maintenance and making the vehicle part of you. Make it part of your family and feed it well :)
by Steve W on March 15, 2012 at 10:34 AM
Way to go! Honda quality shows, but in NY it would never last because of road salt. You would be chasing the rust constantly. The craftsmanship and pride in their product is refreshing.

I bought my 1990 Honda Accord DX from my cousin in New Jersey during 9/11, with 116,000 miles on it. It just turned over to 200,000 yesterday (Feb 28, 2012). This car is simply amazing!! I can see why some make it to one million miles. My Honda has been the best built car I have ever owned. Like Joe L, this car has the original transmission, power steering system and most other major components. Needless to say, I don't have any plans to get rid of this car for years to come. Happy driving

Congatulations Joe! I too, am proud of my Honda (2001 Civic). Bought it with 23,000 miles, many wonderful and dependable travels and wonderful memories, about to turn 200,000 miles and looking forward to many more. Good Luck to you!

Great job Joe.. Had a 97 Accord LX with 305k brought it @ 93k before I rear ended someone. Goldie was truly a horse. Even with high miles on it I received $ 4100 back for the immaculate condition. I now have a 00 with 150k 1/5/12 brought @ 88k 1/5/11 1 owner car runs fantastic. I will follow all maintenance intervals to hit my millionth mark.. This is my 5th Honda Accord the reliability of Honda can not be match better car ever in my opinion... thanks for the great story Joe

I am on my second Honda. My first was a 96 Civic that I got in 97 with 25K miles. I was 16 and learned how to drive in that car, it really took some bumps and bruises. I gave it to my niece in 09 it now has over 150K miles and its still going (and its still taking more bumps and bruises). I then got a 09 Accord. It currently has 34K miles. Honda has been good to me and my family. Thank you for building a reliable car!
by Charlie T on December 14, 2011 at 8:27 PM
I remember going through all the cars on this website a year or two ago, I remember seeing this one, and had no idea this was Million Mile Joe!
by David C on December 12, 2011 at 8:46 PM
Great job Joe I hope I can do that. I have a Honda CRX si but it only has 540,000 miles w/ org. eng.& trans. still avg. 36 MPG.
by Michael I on November 13, 2011 at 10:11 AM
I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX, I have 177,348K miles I hope to get the long service like everyone here. The first Honda I have owned, been a good car but the power steering system has a few bugs in it, but I think we got it fixed after 3 trips to service...
by Ryan A on November 13, 2011 at 4:11 AM
Joe, can I have your old Honda? I need the part off to my 1991 Accord with 203,900 miles.
by Jay B on October 26, 2011 at 8:40 PM
I think your 1990 Accord should go to the museum because its amazing that your car has pass one million miles. Now Its will take take your new 2012 Accord another 17 to 20 years to reach one million miles
by Harry W on October 26, 2011 at 7:12 PM
I have 281,000 on my '01 Civic EX w/auto tranny. Runs like day I drove it out of show room. No major repairs, only routine stuff. But a million miles!! That's unbelievable.
by Jay B on October 26, 2011 at 6:22 PM
Wow that amazing that your car made it to one million miles. I own a 2006 Pilot and maybe I will drive it to one million miles. Right now its currently has 100,000 miles on it and I was thinking after seeing your car with that many miles my Honda Pilot is still new and 100,000 for a Honda is not many miles at all. Do you have to buy new tires once a year and change the Timing belt every two years. Good luck with your new 2012 Honda Accord. Keep posted about your new Accord.
by Tim M on October 25, 2011 at 10:54 AM
HE DID IT!!! His Honda turned a million on 10/20. There was a big celebration for him in the city of Saco and Darling's Honda presented him with a brand new Accord. Joe proves that good maintainance is the key to keeping a vehicle going for a long time.
by Martin H on October 13, 2011 at 3:56 PM
Way to go Joe! Just got a 92 with 268xxx as my first car, taking good care of it so my goal is the big million.
by Colby N on October 11, 2011 at 7:14 PM
Wow Joe that is incredible! My '89 Civic 5spd is still going strong at 253k. She runs great to this day. My work car now that has never let me down. Besides normal wear and tear parts, I've only had to replace the original starter. Go Honda!
by Jeff C on October 6, 2011 at 9:19 PM
My daughter turned over 200,000 miles this summer on her 1996 Civic HX and going strong. I purchased an '08 Accord with 5,500 miles and hope to enjoy your mileage success. My son purchased an '06 Ridgeline with 36,000 miles and I'm sharing your story. Proud to say, my daughter's Civic got her through college and now, taking her to and from work, as an engineer with Honda. Thank you for sharing your wonderful story and stating the importance of scheduled and preventative maintenance.

Hi Joe.. I work in service dept for a Honda dealer here in Canada.. you are an inspiration and it solidifies what I have been telling our customers that maitenance is the best thing for their Honda. We have people here who think a vehicle is old at 100.000 km's (that's about 80,000 mi). I have posted your story all over the dealership for everyone to read.
by Jasen S on September 26, 2011 at 12:16 PM
Gooooo.... Joe! I am a loyal Honda owner and I am truly inspired by your dedicated story. True Blue and you will achieve the Diamond Award any day now, right? I am happy for you, Joe! Keep rolling!
by John S on September 11, 2011 at 9:11 PM
Oh my! I just turned 102,000 on my Honda Odessy Touring and was wondering if I should consider upgrading it to new one. I like it, but was wondering about its life. No more. I believe mine is hardly broken in good yet. It tells me what service it wants, and I go back to my dealer to give it all the service it requests. How can you beat that. It appears I will have my friend for a very long time. Way to go Joe. A million yet???
by Joseph A on September 6, 2011 at 5:37 PM

Our 2005 Odyssey turned 100k two months ago. We bought it when our first born baby girl was 1 month old. It has never broken down. We love its reliability and the security it provides to our family, and the fantastic customer service we get at Team Honda in Lithia Springs, GA. Now with three kids and after our German sedan died for the 5th and final time at 170k last month, it was a no brainer to buy a 2nd Honda, a 2011 Odyssey which my wife will be driving of course. Roger, From Georgia

When I bought my Honda it had 227,000 it has a few nicks and dents but otherwise its great I love my new old car its a 1990 Accord, I LOVE IT
by Steve C on July 29, 2011 at 8:09 PM
I have a 2006 Ridgeline RTL that has 111,384 miles on the odometer. The oil is changed every 6000-7000 miles, and other than replacing a battery and brakes, I've not had a problem. The timing belt was replaced at 105,000, and as a precaution I also replaced the water pump at the same time. Typical Honda. . .very reliable.
by matt j on July 13, 2011 at 1:06 AM
I really hope you have made a million miles. This makes me proud to own a Honda. I have owned two so far. The first one I sold at 187,000 (1998 Accord). Now I own a '05 Civic 5 speed with 95k so I have a long way to go. : ) HONDA FOR LIFE !
by Dustin L on June 20, 2011 at 2:48 PM
Holy cow!! You have the site record with a car only one year older than mine! Does it still run? Please update when it goes over a million; I'd love to see you get that diamond!
by Rich W on March 28, 2011 at 8:21 AM
Wow Joe!! That's amazing!! How many miles are on it now? I can only hope to get that many out of mine.
by Kevin H on February 5, 2011 at 2:17 AM
I was just wondering if Joseph L.'s (from Norway ME), Honda Accord is still going, or not? I figure that if that he should either be at the 1,000,000 mile mark...or at least really close to it? Hope that we can get an update. Thanks!
by Charlie J on January 31, 2011 at 8:00 PM
I have been looking for a car to buy for months. I have looked at everything from A to Z. I saw a Honda Civic on the road for sale by owner. It looks good so I drove it. It drives good. The engine seems strong. I was reluctant to buy it with 294,000 miles but the price was right at $1300. My friends are beating me up over it and I was embarrassed until I found this site. Thank you guys for letting me know that I can now hold my head high. Florida

That's great! I just bought my first used Honda with 139,000 miles on it and hope it lasts as long as its color name, "ETERNAL Blue Pearl". I've heard great things about Honda!
by Kevin H on October 20, 2010 at 12:49 PM
It's Oct. 20, 2010. I was wondering if Joseph L. has hit the 1,000,000 mile mark yet? If, and when he does, Honda should give him a new Accord for the great story, loyalty, and testament to Honda quality. I purchased my 1st Honda May 2009. My wife has put on only about 8,300 miles so far. At this rate, I told her that she's never getting another new car. I hope to purchase a Civic Si for myself. That is, after I get finished paying for her car. "Congrats" to Joseph, and to Honda! Kevin H.
by Dave N on September 29, 2010 at 7:53 PM
Joseph, Your story is amazing and inspirational to a fellow Accord owner. I baby my 2003 Accord with 123k and I am hoping to put a million miles on it someday. I admire the way that you have taken care of your car and I hope it takes you another 900k!
by Michael S on August 26, 2010 at 11:53 AM
Absolutely amazing. The car looks to be in fantastic shape as well. I'll be happy to see you join the million mile club!

I hope you know I was just wondering how much more life my 1991 Accord LX Coupe had left in it after crossing the 400K mark last week, but you have truly given me new aspirations! Have you hit that 1 million mile marker yet?
