The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Odyssey a "2013 Top Safety Pick." IIHS rates vehicles good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. To earn Top Safety Pick for 2013, a vehicle must have good ratings in four Institute tests.

The Odyssey has been named one of the “Greener Choices of 2013” by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The “Greener Choices of 2013” is a selection of gasoline vehicles that scored well according to ACEEE’s Green Book® Online at greenercars.org.
ALG has presented the Honda Odyssey with the 2013 Residual Value Award for the Minivan segment. Residual value, or the value a car retains over time, should be top of mind for any car shopper. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently toughened up its crash-safety tests, but that didn't keep the Odyssey from once again earning a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score[1].

Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program (www.SaferCar.gov). Model tested with standard side airbags (SABs). For the second consecutive year, Honda has won the Best Retained Value Award for Non-Luxury Brands from Edmunds.com. In addition, the 2012 Odyssey was named Best Retained Value in the Van category. Having a clear idea about a car's future resale value is an important part of the car-buying process, and Honda is proud to be recognized for how well our vehicles hold their value over time.
For the second straight year, the Odyssey has earned the MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Award for "Best Minivan." The editors at MotorWeek evaluated all the vehicles in the category "from a buyer's point of view," weighing everything from trends to innovations to value to reliability. Their goal is to offer consumers "a practical guide for car shopping." We're happy to be at the top of their list.
The auto experts at Edmunds.com certainly were impressed by the 2011 Odyssey. They named it a 2011 Top RecommendedSM vehicle, saying, the 2011 Honda Odyssey has a "luxuriously quiet and smooth ride, as well as all-around comfort and versatility." In Edmunds.com's review of the 2011 Odyssey, they noted "[it] is a top pick for a minivan, thanks to its highly versatile interior, long list of features and responsive handling." In addition, the editors at Edmunds.com also loved the Odyssey's quiet cabin and fuel-efficient V-6 engine[1].

Odyssey was named a 2011 Top 10 Road Trip Car by Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com[1]. After citing the multitude of family-friendly features available in the Odyssey, KBB concludes by saying, "For those looking to expand their families and take some grand vacations, an SUV could do the trick, but the Odyssey does many things better."

Future resale and trade-in values are important factors for new minivan shoppers to consider. So consider this: Edmunds.com recently gave their first-ever Best Retained Value Award Vans category to the 2011 Honda Odyssey.
By a wide margin, the 2011 Odyssey won the About.com Readers' Choice Award for Best Minivan. About.com editors concurred, stating, "With some new technology onboard and plenty of new family-friendly features, the Odyssey promises to be a leader into the future."
